Waist-to-Hip Ratio Calculator — Know Your Fat Distribution Risk
Waist-to-Hip Ratio (WHR) is a simple but powerful indicator of fat distribution in the body — particularly around the abdomen.
Unlike weight or BMI alone, WHR tells you where fat is stored. A higher WHR means more fat around the waist compared to the hips, which is strongly linked to a higher risk of diabetes, hypertension, stroke, and heart disease.
This calculator uses just two measurements — waist and hip circumference — to assess whether your fat distribution is in a healthy range. Instantly find out if your WHR is low, moderate, or high risk, and get easy lifestyle tips to reduce abdominal fat and improve metabolic health.
How to Measure
Waist Circumference
Measure at the narrowest part of the waist, usually around the belly button. Stand upright and breathe normally. The tape should be snug but not compressing the skin.
Hip Circumference
Measure at the widest part of the hips, typically around the buttocks. Stand with feet together and keep the tape parallel to the floor.
Tip: For best results, take measurements in front of a mirror and use a flexible measuring tape.

WHR Interpretation
Low Risk
Your fat distribution appears balanced, with less fat stored around the waist. Continue healthy habits.
Moderate Risk
You may be starting to accumulate fat around the abdominal area. Small lifestyle changes can prevent future health issues.
High Risk
You may have excess abdominal fat stored close to internal organs. This increases the risk of diabetes, heart disease, and fatty liver. Consider focusing on waist reduction and consulting a healthcare professional if needed.
